Embassy of the S.R. of Vietnam, in association with OM Tourism organized the first ever Vietnam Tourism Promotion event in Bhubaneswar, under the theme “Vietnam – Amazing destination for Indian tourists” at Swosti Premium Ltd, Bhubaneswar.
In his welcoming speech, DCM Mr Tran Quang Tuyen, recalled the historic links between India and Vietnam. He added that” “Vietnam is home to 8 UNESCO world heritages, well –preserved historic relics and beautiful beaches. Indian travelers can find the essence of Indian culture in Vietnam through Hindu temples in Ho Chi Minh City or at the My Son sanctuary or even at the numerous Indian restaurants.
He added, Odisha has been known for the Buddhist heritage sites spreading across the state and Bhubaneswar, the capital city, is known as ‘Temple City of India’. This is the first time that VNAT is doing roadshow in Bhubaneswar, which is classified as being among one of the Top Ten emerging cities of India, with large working populations and a growing middle-class with high levels of disposable income. Although there are no direct flights to Vietnam, prospective visitors can connect via Kolkata.
He added that 70,000 Indian tourists visited Vietnam in 2015, which is an increase of 27.27% as compared to 55,000 tourists who visited in 2014. Ambassador Thanh invited Indian and especially tour operators and travel agents from Bhubaneswar to take initiative to promote Vietnam as a tourist destination.
The event continued with a thorough presentation by Mr Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Director General, International Cooperation Department, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism on the excellent tourist infrastructure, products, services of Vietnam and gave the guests an insight into the beautiful land of Vietnam and the unique experiences that the country has to offer.
The event continued with a presentation by ICS Travel Group, Victoria Tours and Ben Thanh Tourists gave product presentation to the Indian Travel Agents and media.
During the roadshow, the delegation and travel agents from Vietnam interacted with the local travel agents.
