VIETNAM TOURISM NIGHT
Bhubaneswar, 21 April 2016: Embassy of the S.R. of Vietnam, in association with OM Tourism organized the first ever Vietnam Tourism Promotion event in Bhubaneswar, under the theme “Vietnam – Amazing destination for Indian tourists” at Swosti Premium Ltd, Bhubaneswar.
In his welcoming speech, Vietnam’s Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Mr Tran Quang Tuyen, recalled the historic links between India and Vietnam. He added that” “Vietnam is home to 8 UNESCO world heritage sites, well – preserved historic relics and beautiful beaches. Indian travelers can find the essence of Indian culture in Vietnam through Hindu temples in Ho Chi Minh City or at the My Son sanctuary or even at the numerous Indian restaurants.
He added, Odisha has been known for the Buddhist heritage sites spreading across the state and Bhubaneswar, the capital city, is known as ‘Temple City of India’. This is the first time that Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) is jointly doing roadshow in Bhubaneswar, which is classified as being among one of the Top Ten emerging cities of India, with large working populations and a growing middle-class with high levels of disposable income.
Mr Tran Quang Tuyen also added that approximately 70,000 Indian tourists visited Vietnam in 2015, which is an increase of 27.27% as compared to 55,000 tourists who visited in 2014 but still remains a small number compared to the number of Indian tourists who travel overseas every year. Therefore, he invited Indian and especially tour operators and travel agents from Bhubaneswar to take initiative to promote Vietnam as a tourist destination.
The event continued with a thorough presentation by Mr Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Director General, International Cooperation Department, VNAT, on the excellent tourist infrastructure, products, services of Vietnam and gave the guests an insight into the beautiful land of Vietnam and the unique experiences that the country has to offer.
The event continued with a presentation by ICS Travel Group, Ben Thanh Tourists and Victoria Tours gave product presentation to the Indian Travel Agents and media.
During the roadshow, the delegation and travel agents from Vietnam interacted with the local travel agents.
On this occasion, VFS Global has announced the launch of the Vietnam Visa Facilitation drop-box for applicants to Vietnam in Odisha’s capital city, Bhubaneswar.
