The turbulence of the plane rocks me again as it has been over the past two hours. I still scrunched up in my seat, trying hard not to throw up but finally give up. I reach over my sickness bag while staring out of the window, hoping for a miracle. But my retching stops mid-way as the cloud cover parts to reveal Lke Toba. The serene blue colour locked in the brown mountains is a sight to behold as my plane lands in silangit, home to one of Indonesia’s indigenous tribes, the Bataks.
